Decatur Heights Baptist Church
We thank you for taking the time to explore what our church has to offer
and we genuinely look forward to worshipping with you.
Under the shepherding of Pastor JJ Smith, we continue the ministry of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ with a renewed focus and emphasis of serving as what we like to call “A Great Commission” church (Matthew 28:19-20). And with that focus, comes a desire to cultivate an environment where we can equip individuals to learn, grow and adequately serve as dynamic members of the body of Christ.
Decatur Heights Baptist Church has faithfully proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ for over 80 years. Located in Bladensburg, Maryland (Prince George’s County), just right outside of the Nations’ Capital, we have been planted as a “little city set on a hill” shining God’s light and sharing His love.
Starts January 14 From 10 AM – 11 AM
Sundays 10 AM
Whether you’re entering our doors (or watching online) for the very first time or if you’ve been with us for years, it is our desire that you’re walking into a church where God is present. When you walk in this building we want you to enjoy the music, the fellowship, the preaching but most importantly we want you to experience the blessings, the goodness and the love of our Holy God!
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. (John 1:1-2; John 1:14; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-8; Galatians 4:4-5).
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed. (II Timothy 3:16-1; II Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 14:25; John 16:12-13).
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14).
